Indigenous communities all over the world are active in sports and recreation as champions in physical activity. Sports are an organized, competitive, entertaining, and skillful activity requiring commitment, strategy, and fair play. Recreation is a sport activity that is performed for leisure, and is not as competitive.
The more we participate in sports and recreational activities the healthier our mind, body and spirit become. IPACC supports this idea and believes helping people to get involved in sporting and recreational activities is the next step towards healthy thriving communities.
IPACC will assist Indigenous coaches, athletes and officials to attain corporate discounts and funding at all levels of competitions such as:
• North American Indigenous Games
Due to our commitment to health and wellness IPACC extends its support to individual athletes, sport leaders, and recreation workers as well.
IPACC supports the 2014 North American Indigenous Games to be held in Regina, Saskatchewan. We will be attending the event and hope to see many IPACC team players there too!
IPACC understands that funding can be limited by the sport activity you participate in, even at the highest level. We want to try to maximize our athletes’ possibilities by assisting in finding partners of support for teams or individuals. Below you will find a list of sporting and recreational activities supported by IPACC:
Canoe / Kayaking
Cross Country Running
Cross Country Skiing

Please note that support to find funding or discounts is for IPACC Team Players only. If you are interested in receiving funding, please register as a Team Player then we will send you an application and our guidelines.
