June 21st to June 25th

or NAPAAW for short. The intent of the week is to promote physical activity within our urban and rural Aboriginal communities through organizing several simple and fun initiatives. APACC would like to support your community or organization to “kick-off” the inaugural National Aboriginal Physical Activity Awareness week. Therefore we have created a tool kit and some posters to support you with the 5 day campaign to be physically active across Canada.
The theme for this year’s NAPAAW campaign is:

"Show Us Your Active Spirit"

We are hoping to inspire other communities, organizations, groups, teams etc. to have a fun filled 5 days of physical activity and share their stories, photos and/or ideas to help inspire others to join in the week and "Show Us Their Active Spirit". The toolkit below will help you start your own 5 days of activity. APACC itself will be participating by having our own kick off and active events throughout the week so feel free to follow along with us as well. Our events and ideas for activity will be posted online on our Facebook group page

Inspire Us!

Got a sport, recreation, fitness or traditional activity event or initiative happening in your community between June 21st and 25th 2014? We want to share it with the Nation! Please send us any posters or releases for the event to and we will share it with our network. We would also love to see any photos or stories from your week of physical activity. "Show Us Your Active Spirit" and share your week with us on our Facebook group page and inspire others to get active and do the same!
